Thierry Dewambrechies, GEM PGE 2000, completed the "7 volcanoes summits" challenge!

Thierry Dewambrechies, Grenoble Ecole de Management alumnus, is an experienced alpinist and recently climbed the highest volcano on each continent! 

This achievement was realized by only 37 people in the world, Thierry is now the second French to complete it, discover his testimony:

"Over the past few years I have had the opportunity to climb many mountains around the world, twice approaching the 7,000 meters barrier with Aconcagua in Argentina (6,962 meters) and Ojos del Salado in Chile (6,893 meters). Antarctica was missing. This has now been achieved with the successful ascent of Sidley (4,285 meters) which is the highest volcano on the lost continent, one of the most isolated mountains in the world, right in the heart of Mary Byrd Land, the only area of Antarctica not claimed by a country. 

Proud to be among the first 70 in the world to have reached this summit and thus to have finished the "7 volcanoes summits" challenge (ascent of the highest volcano on each continent)! With also cross-country skiing and even cycling on the programme at the Union Glacier base camp!

With such an objective reached, it becomes possible to attempt the "7 summits" as a mountain and not only as a volcano. 3 of them already done. Perhaps the mythical Denali in Alaska (highest 6'000 meters in the north of the planet) in 2024."
