Meta Platforms or Meta, formerly known as Facebook Inc., is an American multinational corporation founded in 2004. The word Meta, of Greek origin, means “beyond.” It reflects Meta's ambition to go beyond simple social interactions to create a universe where physical, virtual, and augmented reality merge. This new identity also illustrates Meta's desire to build a sustainable and immersive technological future, particularly through the metaverse.
